The Segway® Human Transporter (HT) i180 is our most versatile and colorful model. With new fenders, wheels and battery options, it was designed for extended range, stability and plenty of cargo capacity. The i180 readily navigates a wide range of operating environments and terrain.
The i180 is one of the first Segway® HTs available with optional Saphion® lithium-ion batteries. The new batteries deliver an impressive range of up to 24 miles on a single charge, depending on terrain, riding style and payload. Saphion lithium-ion batteries are low-maintenance, have a long service life and can operate at battery temperatures as low as 14° F (-10° C). Nickel metal hydride (NiMH) are also available.
The i180 also features newly designed fenders and wheels, as well as coordinating accents of color on the control shaft and handlebars. Moveable silver splashguards on the fenders allow the rider to customize the look of the Segway® HT. Position them toward the front of the fenders for a more aggressive look; move them to the rear for maximum spray protection; or, remove them completely for a sleek, minimalist look.
The i180 is the first Segway® HT to roll on new black wheels that come standard with contrasting silver inserts. Five inserts are designed to fit into slots within the wheel; with one slot marked with a subtle notch to identify the location of the air valve hidden beneath. For further customization, additional splashguards and wheel inserts will be available from Authorized Segway® Dealerships or online at the Segway® Shop. Splashguards and wheel inserts are currently available in Sport Red, Solar Yellow, and silver.
In addition to the redundant safety features at the heart of all Segway® HT models, the i180 comes equipped with a number of standard features. Power assist mode allows you to move the device up and down stairs more easily. The control shaft is adjustable to the comfort of the rider and allows the Segway® HT to fit in the trunk of many cars. To help prevent theft, each Segway® HT comes with its own set of keys, encoded with a unique 64-bit security identification. The i180 also comes with a mechanical parking stand
The Segway® Cross-Terrain Transporter (XT) is the latest self-balancing human transporter that provides enhanced performance on a variety of terrain with minimal environmental impact. Featuring all-terrain tires, a robust new fender design, new extended-range lithium-ion batteries and specially tuned software, this rugged Segway® XT will go practically anywhere you want to go.
The Segway® XT has been specifically developed for stability, comfort and performance on uneven and tough terrain. The Segway® XT's low-pressure tires cushion the ride on bumpy surfaces and minimize trail impact, while a continuous center rib provides a smooth ride on paved surfaces. The wider track increases stability on uneven ground, and the Segway® XT's software has been modified to support the new tire size and to supply improved control and performance. It is capable of operating on a variety of surfaces including sand, grass, gravel, dirt and pavement. Depending on local regulations, it may be possible to use the Segway® XT on multi-use pathways but it is not intended for use on sidewalks or pedestrian walkways.
The Segway® XT is also one of our first products to be released with lithium-ion batteries. The increased energy capacity of the standard lithium-ion batteries support the demands of the Segway® XT, while still providing a 10 mile off-pavement range, depending on terrain, riding style and payload.
The sturdy fenders on the Segway® XT are designed to protect the rider from debris and to safeguard the rider during leaning turns. The aluminum fender frames feature built-in lift handles that help you (and a friend!) get a grip on the Segway® XT for loading in and out of a vehicle. Bronze sport striping on black fenders combine with the polished aluminum wheels to create a machine of rugged beauty.
The Segway® Golf Transporter (GT) is a new personal transporter configured to give golf enthusiasts a new way to cruise the course. With extended-range batteries, a golf bag carrier rack, enhanced traction tires, and a special software-control key, the Segway® GT provides the golfer all the tools needed to experience the game in a fun, unique way.
The Segway® GT is built upon the same architecture as the flagship i180 model and comes well-equipped with features to enhance the golf experience. It features new Saphion® lithium-ion batteries that provide a range of 10-14 miles (on the course, 15-22 miles off the course) depending on terrain, riding style and payload, more than enough for 36 holes of golf.
The golf bag carrier secures the golf bag to the right side of the Segway® GT. Adjustable straps secure the bag to the carrier and can accommodate most golf bags. The carrier functions as a stand for the unit when it's time to play, making it easy to access the clubs. A special intelligent key comes with the Segway® GT to allow the unit to stay powered on while the rider takes his or her shot, allowing for quick mounting and dismounting and thus, speedier play.
Enhanced traction tires come standard on the Segway® GT and help the golfer follow the action over the varied landscape of the course. These tires are made of a special compound and feature a unique tread optimized to perform well on low-traction surfaces. The low-pressure pneumatic tires (15-20 psi) are softer on course terrain than other vehicles traditionally used.
Using the Segway® GT on the course makes for a unique experience. Since the platform is eight inches off the ground, riders get a great vantage point of the fairway. The Segway® GT moves two to three times walking speed and can help the rider move from point to point quickly, while still enjoying his or her surroundings. And like all units in the Segway® product line, the Segway® GT is zero-emissions, almost silent and extremely energy efficient.
The Segway® p133 is our smallest and lightest Segway® HT model. It was designed to easily navigate in congested pedestrian environments, be taken on a train or subway, and operate where bikes, cars, and people come together. Use it to run errands, get to class, or commute to work faster and more conveniently. The p133 helps you negotiate your daily routine with ease. Every p133 comes standard with two rechargeable nickel metal hydride (NiMH) battery packs.
